CS defeats application for a writ of attachment against the Quorum Group

May 7, 2009

The Superior Court of California, County of Orange (Judge James di Cesare) denied a request for a writ of attachment freezing the assets of our client, a seismic-imaging company based in California with operations in China, the Middle East, and North America.

The writ of attachment was sought by our client’s former president, who was terminated for cause shortly after he filed his lawsuit and who is currently a defendant in a lawsuit brought by our client in the United States District Court for the Central District of California for breach of fiduciary duty and violations of the Lanham Act.

Camara & Sibley represents this client in its capacity as counsel to the Quorum Group of Companies and the Quorum Oil & Gas Technology Fund, a conglomerate and investment fund publicly traded on the London Stock Exchange and based in Calgary and Toronto.

K.A.D. Camara and Joe Sibley briefed and argued the writ of attachment.
