CES en­gages CS as spe­cial coun­sel to de­fend three en­vir­on­ment­al class ac­tions and an en­vi­ron­men­tal en­force­ment ac­tion brought by the Texas At­tor­ney Gen­er­al

Ca­mara & Sib­ley has agreed to act as out­side gen­er­al coun­sel for CES En­vir­on­ment­al Ser­vices Inc. and Port Ar­thur Chem­ic­al & En­vir­on­ment­al Ser­vices LLC. Both CES and PACES op­er­ate in highly reg­u­lated in­dus­tries and are the sub­jects of on­go­ing in­vest­ig­a­tions by the City of Hou­s­ton and its vari­ous de­part­ments and di­vi­sions, the Texas Com­mis­sion on En­vir­on­ment­al Qual­ity, the Texas At­tor­ney Gen­er­al, the En­vir­on­ment­al Pro­tec­tion Agency, and the Oc­cu­pa­tion­al Safety and Health Ad­min­is­tra­tion. CES and PACES are also in­volved in on­go­ing com­mer­cial lit­ig­a­tion and in the de­fense of sev­er­al em­ploy­ment ac­tions, per­son­al-in­jury ac­tions, private en­vir­on­ment­al ac­tions, and a nuis­ance class ac­tion.

As part of this en­gage­ment, Ca­mara & Sib­ley will con­sol­id­ate its cli­ents’ re­la­tion­ships with out­side coun­sel, ex­perts, and lob­by­ists and present an ag­gress­ive, uni­fied de­fense across all the fronts on which CES and PACES face lit­ig­a­tion and reg­u­lat­ory chal­lenges.
